ABOUT
I have lived in Bend for 23 years and have been fortunate to have shops downtown for almost 14 years. I am passionate about being a good steward of our historic gem of a downtown and preserving its accessibility and charm for generations to come.
WHAT ARE DOWNTOWN’S THREE GREATEST ASSETS?
Proximity to the river and Drake Park, its authentic historic charm, and local community and tourist appeal.
WHAT ARE DOWNTOWN’S THREE GREATEST OPPORTUNITIES?
Downtown's greatest opportunity is to grow in a way that preserves accessibility for everyone. As Bend continues to evolve, we have a chance to create a downtown that remains welcoming to residents of all ages, incomes, and abilities. Thoughtful transportation and parking solutions should support - not discourage- people from gathering, shopping, dining, accessing services, and participating in community life and events. Downtown's greatest opportunity is to ensure that, as Bend grows, downtown continues to feel like it belongs to the people who call Bend home. We can strengthen the sense of community that makes downtown the heart of our city.
WHAT ARE DOWNTOWN’S THREE GREATEST CHALLENGES?
The greatest challenge facing downtown is balancing growth, accessibility, and economic vitality. As Bend continues to grow, we have an opportunity to thoughtfully address transportation, parking, and public spaces in ways that encourage people to visit downtown rather than create barriers that discourage residents, employees, seniors, people with disabilities, or families from enjoying all that downtown has to offer.
WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE ON THE DBBA BOARD OF DIRECTORS?
I want to help shape a downtown that honors Bend's unique character while embracing thoughtful future growth. My goal is to be a collaborative voice that supports local businesses, strengthens community connections, and helps to ensure downtown remains a place where residents feel a lasting sense of belonging to the heart of their community.
