why is there a $1 activation fee?
Because Downtown Bend Business Association is a nonprofit, we operate on a lean budget dedicated to beautification, marketing, events, and supporting our local businesses. Each physical gift card costs us $1 to produce and activate. To keep this program sustainable—and ensure the full card value goes to downtown businesses—we charge a $1 activation fee per physical card.

what do i do with my old Downtown Bend paper dollars?
You can exchange old Downtown Bend paper dollars—even if expired for up to a year—for a Downtown Bend Gift Card of equal value at Outside In (845 NW Wall St).
Paper only. We cannot exchange the former digital “Yiftee” dollars.
What about old digital Yiftee Downtown Dollars?
We cannot convert Yiftee dollars into the new gift card.
However, businesses that previously accepted Yiftee dollars should still honor them.

Do the new gift cards expire?
Nope! The “physical” card might show an expiration date (for the plastic itself or security purposes), but that does not mean you lose the money. Even if the card expires, you should still be able to access the remaining balance by contacting customer support (via the phone number printed on the card).
Can businesses sell Downtown Bend Gift Cards at their own location?
Yes! Businesses may purchase pre-loaded cards from the DBBA and resell them on-site. To arrange this, email admin@downtownbend.org.
