How much time do I need to commit?
That’s up to you! Committee members usually meet once a month and may take on small projects in between meetings. General volunteers help when needed, often for just a few hours at an event or project..
do i need any special skills to volunteer?
Not at all. We welcome all skills and backgrounds. Whether you’re a marketing professional, a creative, a business owner, or simply someone who loves Downtown Bend, there’s a place for you.
can i join more than one committee?
Yes, though we encourage new volunteers to start with the committee that best matches their interests and availability.
what kind of things do general volunteers do?
General volunteers (our “Volunteer Crew”) help with event set-up and tear-down, beautification projects, hanging flower baskets, distributing flyers, or pitching in during big downtown celebrations.
what if i can only volunteer occasionally?
That’s perfect! Joining our Volunteer Crew is a great option if you’d like to be contacted when we need extra hands without a monthly commitment.
Is there an age minimum?
Volunteers of all ages are welcome! Youth under 16 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
