ABOUT

Angela has had a foot in Bend her entire life and moved here full time on 2008. She has owned Outside In for 10 years and served on the DBBA board for 6 years. Angela is passionate about our community, the vitality of Downtown, and the health of small businesses. As a board member, Angela aims to keep the needs of small business owners at the forefront of all discussions impacting downtown. After watching Bend grow and change over the last 40+ years, Angela feels a strong desire to be a steward of Downtown and Bend overall.

WHAT ARE DOWNTOWN’S THREE GREATEST ASSETS?

1: Our history and historical buildings. 2: Location in the heart of Bend next to the stunning Deschutes river. 3: Our unique variety of locally owned shops, cafes and restaurants.

WHAT ARE DOWNTOWN’S THREE GREATEST OPPORTUNITIES?

1: Create space and opportunities for more community engagement that reflect our love of the arts, outdoor and community. 2: Help guide the process to building safe accessible public restrooms. 3: Hear public concerns on parking and work with The City of Bend to find parking solutions that fit our unique communities needs.

WHAT ARE DOWNTOWN’S THREE GREATEST CHALLENGES?

1: Public perception regarding parking and the DBBA's role in parking. 2: Supporting small business owners in a quickly changing social and economic climate as Bend grows. 3: Ensuring funds are raised and managed appropriately to support the beautification and vitality we all want to see in Downtown.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE ON THE DBBA BOARD OF DIRECTORS?

I want to give a voice to Small Business owners and Bend residents. As Downtown changes and bend grows, its crucial we remember the small businesses and the community members who live and work here everyday. Being part of the discussion has been a great honor, and I feel there is more work I have to get done on the board. Every conversation I have regarding Downtown, is led by my desire to create a safe, accessible, vibrant and inclusive community.
