Demonstrations and Protests in Downtown Bend
We are proud to have the Peace Corner gathering space within the Economic Improvement District. We believe that downtown's across the nation serve as community living rooms, they are a space for everyone, and public demonstrations, protests and vigils are an important part of a healthy society.
As the DBBA, It is also our role in the community to keep our livingroom, Downtown Bend, clean, beautiful and welcoming. As such, we ask the community members using the Peace Corner display our community values of kindness and stewardship.
We want to allow ample time to allow those who care most about the vigil time to reflect and enjoy (if possible) the display. We also want to give the community a chance to witness and reflect on the vigil or demonstration. As such, we will allow 48 hour before removing art or displays created for this purpose. If you have something that you would like to save (sign/poster/etc.), please return and collect your item before 48 hours. After this time all public spaces will be restored to their original state.
Please note that any hateful or inappropriate messages will be removed immediately.
