Describe what you feel that you could contribute to the DBBA board:
Having been a City Councilor in Bend, I can help the board navigate City Council and to continue being an advocate for the Downtown Small Business Community. My other contribution is that since I am not a downtown business owner, I can bring perspective as a community member into DBBA's discussions. I will be an active evangelist in our community (in and outside our downtown core - attending neighborhood association meeting as an example), sharing network, and keeping my eyes peeled for opportunities when I can best promote the DBBA - I will also be actively engaged at board meetings and do my best to go above and beyond.

Describe what you feel Downtown Bend's role is in our City/Community:
The role is to keep the vibrancy and community alive amongst our business owners which helps attract the community into the downtown core as well as new residents and tourists. To drive and spur economic development and create a safe place for our neighbors and be an active neighbor not only within the core but outside the core too. It is my belief, that Downtown Bend is an employer of many that helps with economic resiliency and because of this MUST be an ACTIVE voice in our City Government.

Describe 1-2 of the elements of your vision for the future of Downtown Bend:
My vision is for our Downtown community is building partnerships. The pandemic has shown that working together and learning from each others has made downtown stronger. We (business owners and community members) must continue working together and support our businesses, promoters, advocates, and visionaries of our historic Downtown Bend. Downtown Bend's future will be through connecting and strengthening our partnership with Bend's City government, with business and building owners, and beyond downtown's core.
