Looking for a new employee?

Look first from amongst your customers.

WHY? Because one thing you know for sure is that there is nobody out there who’s more enthusiastic about your product. And you will already have a good idea of what kind of rapport you have with that customer.

HOW? Next time that person comes to your store, have a conversation that goes something like this: “Do you know anyone who’s looking for work? Qualifications, hmmm. I’d really love to have someone … exactly like you! Hey, you’re not available, are you?” Last point: if you have a really great employee, wait for them. Years, if necessary. Conversely, if one becomes available, hire them immediately, even if you don’t think you have space for them at the time.
