Voice of Downtown Contest Announcement

DOWNTOWN BEND LAUNCHES VOICE OF DOWNTOWN CONTEST

Vote for the new voice & get entered to win a Downtown Bend shopping spree

The Downtown Bend Business Association announced today that it is launching the “Voice of Downtown Contest”. The contest will seek to find a new voice for all Downtown Bend radio, television and marketing efforts. Three vocal talents from around the west have recorded demos reading copy specific to Downtown Bend. The public can choose who the new voice will be by going to DowntownBend.org and voting for their favorite. All participants are entered to win a $100 Downtown Bend shopping spree.

“It is essential that Downtown Bend have a distinct brand and an audio signature to accompany it,” said Jodell Born, DBBA staff marketing lead. “The outcome we’re planning on is that a year from now Downtown Bend will have a consistent and recognizable voice on all of our marketing materials.”

The project has also engaged downtown businesses. Tim Underwood Productions, a downtown audio production company, has been instrumental in orchestrating the effort. The local production company provides high quality studio production facilities and places voice talent in Central Oregon and nationwide.

The DBBA is a nonprofit organization representing approximately 350 businesses and 85 property owners working to keep Downtown Bend vibrant. The organization is responsible for downtown beautification, marketing, events and keeping the business environment healthy.
