The Sound of Music Sing-Along!

The Sound of Music Sing-Along!

Open Your Von Trapp and Sing-Along to “Sound of Music”

Plus costume contest, goodie bags and all your “Favorite Things”

Channel your inner Von Trapp and hiss the countess, bark at Rolf and cheer for Maria as you sing-along to on-screen lyrics of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s timeless Technicolor classic at the Tower Theatre on Friday, November 25.

The audience-participation phenomenon that started in England and filled the Hollywood Bowl comes to Bend for one show only. Starting at 7:00 pm, get warmed-up and go through your complimentary “magic moments pack” containing props, including a curtain swatch and Edelweiss, to flaunt during special points throughout the Academy Award-winning movie. Then take part in the costume contest, as Central Oregonians of all ages dress-up as nuns, Nazis, lonely goatherds…even girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes. Let your imagination run wild. The more original the costume the better. Prizes will be awarded.

As the 1965 family drama with Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer unfolds, the audience becomes the star of the show. As ABC News said about this sing-along, “If you’ve always wanted to be a part of a musical, this is your chance!”

“We’ve had success with sing-alongs for the past two years,” said Ray Solley, executive director of the Tower Theatre Foundation. “But this is the ultimate sing-along movie. After a day of holiday shopping, it’s the perfect night out with family, visitors, classmates and BFFs.”
