The Ribbon Cutting, at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, is the official grand opening of The Nature of Words’ new literary arts center at 224 NW Oregon Avenue, which includes a space for The Storefront Project, providing drop-in creative writing workshops to middle- and high-schoolers at no charge.

The Ribbon Cutting is open to the public and will include tours of the center, refreshments, and a drawing for tickets to The Nature of Words’ November 3-7 literary festival. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the guest authors who will appear at the November festival: Jimmy Santiago Baca, Michael Dickman, Kent Haruf, Hillary Jordan, Anne Lamott, Barry Lopez, Paulann Petersen, Brian Turner and David Whyte.
