First Friday Art Walk features Artist Cindy Briggs. A master of translucent watercolors, Cindy also works in oils and pastels. Her work has been featured in numerous solo, group, invitational, national and regional juried shows, Including the National Watercolor Society Show in 2009 & 2010 and this March in the Northwest Watercolor Society Show in Seattle. You can also find her featured in newspaper and magazine articles, in promotional materials and logos. From a family of professional artists, Briggs earned a degree in design with a minor in art history from BYU—she has also studied with many notable artists.  Cindy serves on the NWWS Board and is a Signature Member, she is currently a member of the NWS,  WSO, and the High Desert Art League in Central Oregon.  She is represented by River Bend Fine Art Gallery in downtown Bend.

First Friday Art Walk features: An Interpretive Exhibit organized by The Museum at Warm Springs in 2007, sponsored by the Deschutes National Forest Scenic Byways Program, Central Oregon Community College, Bend2030 and hosted by Arts Central. Arts Central is hosting the exhibit as part of its mission to educate and inform the community of relevant cultural events and issues.  The exhibit represents Arts Central’s first collaboration with the Museum of Warm Springs.

First Friday Art Walk features the High Desert Journal, Bend’s very own literary and fine arts magazine and considered to be one of the finest publications in the west. Reading from the issue 12 print issue will be Bend’s, Anna Roberts and Prineville’s, Nathaniel Dunaway. Dunaway’s poem, Speak, harsh land, was recently nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Also reading from the online edition two women pilots from Redmond, Carol Gift and Fawn McManigal. New editor Charles Finn and founder/publisher/managing editor Elizabeth Quinn will also be on hand pouring wine, answering questions and selling journals.
