The Downtown Bend Business Association (DBBA) and Bellatazza sponsored an evening to learn how to use Social Media on October 27th. This meeting was to not only increase business, but to work with other businesses in Downtown Bend.
Businesses in Downtown are automatically a member of DBBA and were invited to attend. The space was limited to 30 people, and we had a great turnout.
Michelle Hart of WEB301 explained the importance of tagging neighbors, using hashtags, the cost of using social media, etc.
We came up with hashtags, that we hope all businesses will continue to use as they post on social media. One tip that was mentioned, not to use more than 4 or 5 hashtags on one post. Keep it minimal, for more impact. Use the tags that pertain to your post.

As a Downtown Business, be sure you’ve ‘liked’ Dowtown Bend, not just Bend. We’re the one with the green Bend logo. Be sure to add this to all your posts. Also, be sure to tag your neighbors, the more mentions, the better.
We will plan another Social Media Meeting in the near future. Watch for updates.
