The DBBA is funded primarily by the Economic Improvement District (EID) created in May of 2012 by City of Bend ordinance to improve and maintain downtown. The EID was approved by vote of the 96% of the property owners who elected to annually assess themselves 18 cents per square foot of commercial space. In May of 2015, the EID passed again this time with 100% approval at the same rate of 18 cents.
Our last budget increase through the EID was 6 years ago in 2012. We are requesting an increase to 25 cents in 2018, to learn more about this increase, click here.
Secondarily, we are funded by our fundraising efforts. The largest of which is Bend Oktoberfest, where 100% of the proceeds go to the DBBA. If you’d like more information about our future fundraising plans, click here.
The new proposed Downtown Bend Economic Improvement District is bouned by the intersection of Wall and NW Vermont (By Oregrown) to the North, Lava Road and the West half of Harriman to the East (by Brickhouse), Louisiana Ave (City Hall/McMenamins) to the South and Brooks Alley (Bend Brewing Co, The Commons) to the West.
