2012 Board Election Results
DOWNTOWN BEND BOARD ANNOUNCES ELECTION RESULTS
Election yields solid participation
The Downtown Bend Business Association has announced the results of the recent 2012 Board of Directors election. We welcome one new Board member, Scott Witham who will start his term this month. Additionally, Kelli Brooks, Jim Petersen, and Tom Penn were re-elected to their Board positions. Board members serve two year terms overseeing the business, policy, and direction of the DBBA.
Kelli Brooks is the owner of At The Beach and has been involved in downtown for over a decade. Jim Petersen is the owner of Mockingbird Gallery on Wall Street. Jim will continue to be a business owner representative on the Board. Over the past five years, Jim has a strong sense of how a successful downtown is good for business. “It’s important for all of us to recognize how fortunate we are to do business in our unique and thriving downtown, and we need to do all we can as a community to keep Downtown Bend special.” Jim said. Tom Penn is the manager of the Phoenix Inn at Franklin and Lava. Tom will continue as a property owner representative on the Board.
Scott Witham is the owner of Lone Pine Coffee in Tin Pan Alley. The small, family-run coffee roaster has been in business for over three years.
The DBBA is a nonprofit organization representing approximately 350 businesses and 85 property owners working to keep Downtown Bend vibrant. The organization is responsible for downtown beautification, marketing, events, and keeping the business environment healthy.
